Changing and adapting: how to create movement

Research on processes of change shows that the effect of change depends on the degree of acceptance that is created for the change.
Effective change processes first require that the change is perceived as important. Humans like predictability, and changes can be stressful for us - to accept changes, we need to understand why they are being made. Next, the change being made must be perceived as correct, in other words, as the right alternative for solving a given problem. Lastly, the change process itself must be perceived favourably.

A change proposal may look good on paper, but if employees are not prepared to adapt, you will not get the results you want.
