Community involvement

At Bjørnson we have a long tradition of involvement with charitable bodies and organisations. Applying our specialist skills to good causes and network building, is both enriching and meaningful.

Bjørnson has been a sponsor of Viking Handball since 2010. During this period, we have had the pleasure of providing input and lectures about organisation and leadership at the Vikingskolen, a skills programme for sponsors of Viking Handball. Viking Handball works to support an investment in elite and amateur sport. A strong local profile and good recruitment work contributes to great enthusiasm and identity around the team. The club’s work is based on its mission statement: amateur and elite sport - hand in hand!

Bjørnson became a sponsor for Sandnes Handball during the 2017/2018 season. Our role is as a “value sponsor” supporting broad activities. Sandnes Handball has 400 members and is run as a cooperative, with the mission statement: Excitement, Effort, Respect, Fair play.

kreftomsorgen rogaland

Bjørnson has been a sponsor for Cancer Care Rogaland (KOR) since 2008. Cancer Care Rogaland is a local care and skills centre for cancer sufferers and their relatives, and the bereaved. The centre is based in Stavanger and Haugesund, and covers the whole county. As sponsors, we have the pleasure of supporting KOR in developing their organisation and staff to build the competencies needed when encountering important and demanding tasks.

Bjørnson has sponsored Viking Football since 2013. As a Viking sponsor, we have had the pleasure of participating in countless events with the club and the sponsor network, and look forward to new, exciting, dark-blue highlights! Viking Football issued the following comment in connection with the re-signing: "Bjørnson Organisational Psychologists has helped both our players, trainers and leaders with professional input over the past years. They continue their engagement as collaborating partners and supporters; something we are hugely thankful for.”

Bjørnson was one of ten principal sponsors during the construction of the Stavanger Konserthus (concert hall), which was completed in 2012. The concert hall is a connection between the Bjergsted “music park” and the Stavanger municipality. The Konserthus has two halls with outstanding acoustics: an orchestra hall, with 1,500 seats, and the Zetlitz, with a capacity of up to 2,000. Over the course of a few years, the hall has cemented its position in regional and national cultural life.

Since 2021, Bjørnson has been a sponsor and collaborating partner for Bryne FC, in connection with the Haaland Academy. The Haaland Academy offers leaders in the Jæren region an exciting networking arena, as well as provisions in business development, technology, sustainability, and leadership. Bjørnson collaborates with Bryne FC, Alf Inge Haaland, Erling Braut Haaland and the programme committee in managing and running the academy. Several of the region’s most successful leaders take part in the Haaland Academy, both as lecturers and participants.
