Total E&P Norge chose Bjørnson as their preferred provider in September 2017 to provide support developing teams within their new organisational structure. The goal of the project was to enable managers and the organisation as a whole to achieve the benefits of a team-based management approach.
A team from Bjørnson organised the project. Between October and November 2017, Bjørnson delivered Leadership Team Alignment workshops for each of the nine Business Unit Leadership Teams found in the restructured Total E&P Norge.
Bjørnson also designed a template for team development of the multiple cross-functional teams found within the organisation, and trained HR Business Partner employees in using it. The team development processes were conducted primarily by HR-Business Partners in Total, with support from Bjørnson consultants where needed.
Overall, Bjørnson delivered according to our expectations. They did a thorough job with analysing current status and future ambitions including one-to-one meeting with key stakeholders in the organisation. Their approach was driven by experience and flexibility, and they were very professional, particularly in the execution phase. During the execution, they managed to adapt to our culture and ways of working, despite of certain last minute changes of scope of work. They were able to connect with the managers and adapt the tailor-made program to the various group dynamics in a very successful way. During facilitation of team development they created an arena for open sharing and building trust amongst team members. The consultant from Bjørnson had a good understanding of the energy sector and the challenges we were facing, which facilitated the preparations. We would recommend Bjørnson to other companies and look forward to further cooperation.
The HR department in Total E&P Norge was very pleased to have a professional partner to discuss and navigate when developing teams within their new organisation.
